WELCOME LETTER

We are thrilled to welcome you to the NH-PAI elder care web site. This web site has been created to support Therapeutic Touch Therapists, Teachers, and Mentors explore the use of Therapeutic Touch in the care of elders, a unique and growing population.

NH-PAI received a grant from the Nurse Competence in Aging (NCA) initiative to expand the scope of our specialty practice to include geriatric knowledge and skills, to educate our members about the significance and validation of enhanced practice, and to make a substantive commitment to improve the quality of nursing care delivered to elder individuals.  NCA is a 5-year initiative funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies (USA) Inc., awarded to the American Nurses Association (ANA) through the American Nurses Foundation (ANF), and represents a strategic alliance between ANA, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the John A. Hartford Foundation Institute for Geriatric Nursing, New York University College of Nursing, working with specialty nursing associations to incorporate a geriatric presence and enhance member competence in aging.

The NH-PAI grant proposal included the development of the Therapeutic Touch & Elder Care Learning Module. This project would not have been possible without the commitment and hard work of the members of the Module Development Team. Our heartfelt THANKS to:
