NH-PAI Code of Ethics
The TT practitioner, educator, researcher demonstrates –
Responsibilities to Clients:
v Respect by responding to the client’s wholeness, inherent worth, individuality and diversity. Honoring the client’s healing potential, client’s boundaries, and the client’s freedom to choose. Inherent in the freedom to choose is the freedom to change that choice. Preserving and protecting client information.
v Honesty by clearly and accurately representing one’s qualifications and experience. Clearly conveying the potential outcome of the TT session and by conducting all business within the scope of one’s practice, providing only services for which one is contracted.
v Integrity by making fair financial arrangements in advance of providing contracted services. Providing a safe and comfortable work environment. Maintaining a professional relationship by communicating responsibly, truthfully, respectfully, and refraining from initiating or engaging in any sexual conduct or sexualizing behavior involving the client or a client’s family members. Removing oneself when there is a conflict of interest.
v Competence by maintaining an ongoing practice that recognizes freedom of choice and providing services only with informed consent. Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records.
v Responsibility by requesting client feedback, appropriately terminating a professional relationship, and appropriately using referral and consultation.
Professional Responsibilities:
v Respect by acting in accordance with NH-PAI standards and guidelines, including service
marks, trademarks, and copyright, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
v Honesty by accurately representing one’s education and experience.
v Integrity by performing only those services for which one is qualified, appropriate referral of
clients as needed and by making financial arrangements prior to providing services.
v Competence by demonstrating and maintaining professional competence consistent with
the NH-PAI guidelines for education, research and practice.
v Responsibility by accepting responsibility for the consequences of one’s actions, requesting
feedback regarding one’s practice, ensuring marketing materials accurately reflect one’s
qualifications and skills, and by contributing to the professional organization.
Responsibilities to Colleagues and Community:
v Respect by respecting the rights, knowledge, skills, and diversity of colleagues and other health care professionals. Conducting oneself in a manner of fairness, directness, openness, and cooperation in all dealings.
v Honesty by being transparent and direct in one’s communication of issues, concerns, and potential resolutions. Clearly and accurately representing one’s qualifications, affiliations, and experience.
v Integrity by openly attending to issues, ensuring confidentiality of information, and by refraining from making derogatory remarks concerning another practitioner.
v Competence by consulting appropriately regarding professional practice issues and by acting in accordance with NHPAI standards and guidelines.
